Gearing up for the Watada Show

Supporta 1Lt. Ehren Watada shakes hands with a supporter during the “Citizens’ Hearing on the Legality of U.S. Action In Iraq” tribunal.

Even though an Army judge has rejected 1Lt. Ehren Watada’s defense for refusing deployment to Iraq because he believes the war is illegal, his supporters were far from silent in voicing dissent for the war and faith in Watada’s stand.

“We want to break through the denial and speak the truth,” said Ellen Murphy, one of the many attendees at the Citizens’ Hearing on the Legality of U.S. Actions in

Iraq

held at the Evergreen State College’s

Tacoma

campus this past weekend.  “This is the only venue where he will get a fair hearing,” she added.

In brief remarks, Watada thanked the attendees for their support and said that he hopes the truth comes out during his upcoming court martial.  The trial begins February 5.
