This is a street theater piece in which people lie down on the city sidewalk and cover themselves with sheets to represent the dead, Iraqi and "coalition", killed in this war of occupation.  Please bring your own sheet, and since the pavement is cold a mat is recommended.  Rain does not cancel -- poncho might sometimes be necessary.  Since we lie on the city sidewalk far enought apart to accomodate passing foot and wheelchair traffic, this is a legal event.  In January we met up with a Federal agent who didn't think so and arrested two of us, however the ACLU is on our side and I don't anticipate trouble in the future.

This vigil began in the Spring of 1998, when Madeline Albright tried to gain support for a war against Iraq.  The focus has changed over time, and is now calling for an end to the Iraq War and the occupation.
