As a father of a recently commissioned 2nd Lt. of Marines (currently undergoing desert warfare training at Twentynine Palms in anticipation of probable deployment to Iraq in September) I wish to thank and commend you for your courageous actions. 

I've had many discussions with my own son, who has his own rationale for his actions, in which I've tried to communicate the values which you are demonstrating. 

wish you both safety and hope the "blowback" of your actions are not excessively severe as I also hope the "blowback" for my son's actions are not either.
